It was designed with the concept of "fusion with nature" in order to harmonize the architecture with the forest landscape, which has a variety of faces in the four seasons and is attractive with rich nature. The founder, who surveyed each tree, including one of the old trees, which is more than 100 years old, designed and built a hotel with the image of a "hotel standing in the forest" that would coexist with his predecessors (forest trees) so that the building would not be taller than these trees. Since the shape of the gently sloping land was used as it is, the layout emphasizes integration with nature, such as several steps in the building, a bathroom overlooking the forest, and a wide window frame. The hotel is an "Auberge in the Forest" quietly standing on a site of 10,000 tsubo in the "Wadano Forest" near the Hakuba Happo-One Ski Resort, a sacred place for Japan skiing, which was also the venue of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. The chirping of birds, the sound of leaves swaying in the breeze, the murmur of the river, the sound of falling snow...
