Experience of the stay
I stayed for the first night of a 2-night, 3-day Osaka Expo trip. Initially, I had booked another hotel, but after considering everyone's stories, I ultimately decided on this hotel. The deciding factors were cost performance and ease of access to the expo site, Yumeshima. Plus, I personally love Taiwan, having traveled there four times, so I was drawn to the Taiwan brand. Though there is a bit of distance from any station, it’s within walking distance and very convenient. On the day of my stay, it was easy to access Shinsekai with the Tsutenkaku tower for sightseeing. The next day, I was able to go directly to the expo site without transferring trains. I was also grateful to be upgraded from a superior twin room to a slightly larger room. As a new hotel, the interior was compact yet very clean and comfortable. The free drink bar and snacks available until 11 PM were a high point! The drink bar was especially appreciated on a hot day. I was able to borrow loungewear from the front desk, and although it wasn’t a separate top and bottom, it was fine. There are convenience stores and pharmacies nearby, along with numerous dining options, which is convenient. Just one street away from the main road, Shinsaibashi offers a quiet atmosphere that has become my favorite spot! This wonderful hotel allows me to enjoy a peaceful stay while being perfectly located. I would love to repeat my stay during my next trip to Osaka.
Experiences during the trip
On the first day, I explored Shinsekai and enjoyed Osaka's gourmet food like kushikatsu and doteyaki. The main purpose of this trip was undoubtedly the Osaka-Kansai Expo! It was surprisingly hot and crowded, which turned out to be a memorable experience. The pavilions and events were all fully booked in advance, and the only on-the-day reservation I could make was for the last experience of the 'Dynamic Equilibrium Pavilion.' Of course, if I had gathered information beforehand and moved efficiently, I could have visited various pavilions in less time, but I had no issues enjoying the expo with same-day reservations. For lunch, I visited a food court in the Eastern area just after 11:00 AM. It was 20% off until 11:30, and since it was early, it was a great choice, even on a Sunday! I also got takeout Austrian ice cream. I had previously been to Vienna and wished to explore Austria more, so I was glad to visit its pavilion. Personally, experiencing the expo, which might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, was very meaningful. It turned out to be a very satisfying trip!
