Experience of the stay
While searching for a place around Makuhari for a Golden Week event, I found this amazing deal with a sauna and large public bath for only 338 coins for two people, so I made a reservation.
The room was small, but it had a desk and a clothing rack, enough space to open a suitcase, and there was a complimentary bottled water as well as coffee and tea packets provided. The outlets were conveniently located near the bed, so it seemed easy to charge while using the devices. Additionally, there were earplugs provided in the room, probably as a noise countermeasure since the expressway was nearby. I didn’t feel any noise at all, so I slept soundly without using them, haha.
Moreover, they had a Rifa hairdryer and iron available for borrowing at the front desk! Such a delightful service.
We checked in at 6 PM and went to the large public bath right away.
Upon entering, there were four washing stations along with a hot bath, cold bath, and sauna, and even though it was compact, there were not many people, which was very pleasant. The sauna felt full with just three people, but the temperature was just right, and the cold bath was perfectly refreshing.
By the way, the changing room had job's-tears cleansing foam, lotion, emulsion, and cotton which was very convenient! Plus, they offered icy cold water service.
Bathing while viewing the night scenery of the expressway was exceptional.
After bathing, there was a rest area where you could read manga.
I soaked in the bath and slept soundly until morning, it was the best.
The next morning, there was a free shuttle bus from the hotel to Kaihin-Makuhari Station, which I took advantage of.
It was a lucky and comfortable ride saving me bus fare.
Although I didn’t use the bathroom in my room, it was surprisingly clean for such an old building. There was no sign of black mold often found in older hotels. The room was also very well cleaned.
The hotel itself is old, and honestly, it may not suit those who envision a modern, spotless hotel, but for someone like me who wants a cozy hotel with a large public bath at an affordable price, I highly recommend it! I would love to stay again next year. Thank you!
Experiences during the trip
For dinner, since the wind was strong and a little cold, we didn't go out and used the restaurant located just outside the hotel's large public bath.
Although it was called a restaurant, it was quite small, and on weekends, the owner seemed to manage it alone, but the meals that came out were incredibly delicious for the low price, which left us amazed. The drinks were also inexpensive, and the sake, especially the Daiginjo, was only 550 yen served generously in a glass. It was about twice the amount you would get at a regular place, haha. I want to stay again just to go to this restaurant.
