Experience of the stay
Completely satisfied with Hokans!!
The room was spacious and relaxing, allowing me to kick off my shoes and unwind. The traditional Japanese setting offered a serene atmosphere to enjoy.
I experienced various spots prepared on each floor. The all-you-can-drink beer and chuhai server was utilized several times for drinking in my room! Soft drinks were also complimentary! There was a counter where I could grind coffee beans and drip my coffee. I relaxed and enjoyed my freshly brewed coffee in the room; it was delicious and fun.
I also enjoyed the bath styled like a public bath with a sauna for a relaxing time. I got some iced umeshu (plum wine) from the shop selling fermented food and alcohol and enjoyed a tipsy experience after the bath.
For dinner, I bought various items at Isetan in Kyoto Station and enjoyed a traditional Japanese bento. I was satisfied being able to relax in my room!
After dinner, I had some snacks I brought along and free snacks (nuts, dried pineapples, and smoked cheese) for evening drinks!
In the morning, I had fruit sandwiches I bought at Isetan! I continued to relax in my room. I lounged on the couch and rolled around in bed, sleeping deeply; it was an absolutely fantastic holiday!
Hokans trips are the best way to unwind! ♡
Experiences during the trip
Gastronomy trip♡ The purpose of my journey is Hokans and delicious lunch! ♡ On the first day, I enjoyed a lunch at Aoi-ke in Karasuma, using plenty of Kyoto ingredients. The French cuisine with elements of Japanese taste was amazing, bringing out the flavors of the ingredients. The plates were beautiful, and it was a luxurious time!!
I had a vegetable-filled salad Carpaccio, incredibly smooth scallop chawanmushi, sweet and creamy corn soup, and a crispy-skinned main fish dish with delicious buttery sauce. ♡
After strolling around the city, I had a meal at Hashitate inside Kyoto Station on the second day and returned home by train. I had a seasonal unagi tamago-don (grilled eel on rice with beaten eggs) and a set of simmered noodles. The delicate flavors were exquisite!!
Kyoto really has so many delicious foods! Both French and Japanese cuisines are superb! ♡
