Experience of the stay
I used this for my stay before the Expo. This was my fifth OMO, following Kyoto Toji, Asahikawa, Otaru, and Hakodate, and as always, OMO did not disappoint! Here are two standout features of this hotel: ★ Large public bath & sauna ★ Yonayona Moonwalk The large public bath was spacious, with stunning visuals of all of Hoshino Resort's facilities displayed on the wall screen. They were all wonderful. At Yonayona Moonwalk, you can enjoy several types of Yonayona Ale beer for a fee. Light meals can also be ordered, but all the dishes were stylish and delicious. You can also enjoy them on the terrace. There’s also juice available, so after bathing, our entire family visited the terrace to enjoy beer & juice while feeling the breeze, creating a blissful moment. As a welcome drink, I appreciated the self-service of several types of drinks at a restaurant with a great view. Breakfast included three types of delicious live kitchen pancakes. The bed was as cozy as ever, distinctively more comfortable than any business hotel. And! For anyone going to the Expo, I highly recommend this hotel! There’s a direct limousine bus from Rinku Town Station, where the hotel is located, to the Expo (pre-booking on the dedicated site is essential, one way costs 2500 yen, approximately 1.5 hours), and once you get on, you sit back until you arrive at the less crowded West Gate of the Expo! This was the case on a certain Sunday in June, entering at 11:00 - we had virtually zero wait time, passed baggage checks effortlessly, and it was stress-free from the hotel exit to entering the Expo! We passed by the East Gate on the bus, which, at the same time, looked completely packed, even more chaotic than Disneyland. Even if the transportation costs are a bit high and it takes time, if it means entering without stress, staying at OMO to prepare for the next day's Expo with the large public bath & sauna, enjoying a delicious breakfast, and taking a direct bus, I highly recommend it! By the way, we traveled from Haneda to Kansai Airport ✈️, and returning from Shin-Osaka to Shin-Yokohama 🚄.
Experiences during the trip
Upon arriving at Kansai Airport from Haneda, I immediately indulged in 551's pork buns and tako-yaki from Takomasa at the airport. Then, I moved to the hotel. Since I had a light snack at Yonayona Moonwalk, I didn’t go to a restaurant for dinner, but instead bought some snacks at the convenience store below the hotel and ate them in my room. The next day was the much-anticipated Expo! Thanks to arriving at the West Gate by limousine bus, I was able to enter stress-free and visit nine pavilions even with two kids in tow. During the hottest hours, we took a break and cooled off under the large roof ring, and when it got cooler, we strolled around the roof ring again, and before we knew it, it was already 20:30. The combination of OMO & the Expo was so perfect that I would want to do it all over again.
