The Grand Hotel
1 Section 4, Zhongshan N Rd, Zhongshan District, Taipei City
Famous for its magnificent traditional Chinese palace architecture and profound historical culture, welcoming travelers from around the world
■ Area The Grand Hotel is located on the hillside of Jiantan Mountain, facing the Keelung River and backed by Yangmingshan. Situated in a culturally rich historical site, this location has roots dating back to the Neolithic period, around three to four thousand years ago, when the Yuanshan Shell Mound Culture thrived. In 1901, during the Japanese colonial period, the Taiwan Shrine was built here. After the war, it was transformed into the Taiwan Grand Hotel for hosting foreign guests, officially renamed as "Grand Hotel" in 1952. The hotel still retains the bronze dragon fountain from the Taiwan Shrine period, which has been newly painted gold, becoming the hotel's iconic "Gold Dragon", witnessing the legendary transformation of Yuanshan from a shrine to an important historical landmark in Taiwan. As the face of the nation, having hosted international leaders such as U.S. President Eisenhower and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, the Grand Hotel exemplifies Taiwan's hospitality. ■ Facilities The hotel offers a gym, tennis courts, a sauna, and an Olympic-standard swimming pool. ■ Rooms Each room is cleverly designed to maximize limited space, creating a simple yet warm living atmosphere for travelers. ■ Meals Experience a complete taste of Taiwan, from banquet-level cuisine to the newly opened "Mitao by Bar Mu" bar, featuring local Taiwanese beverages as a base for cocktails, including Yuushan Dongding Brandy, Yuchuan Mei Red Wine, 58-degree Kinmen Kaoliang, and Bamboo Leaf Green, paired with traditional medicinal ingredients like deer antler, cordyceps, ginseng, and Acanthopanax leaves for refreshing exclusive Taiwanese flavors. From the classic Yuan Garden Restaurant and Golden Dragon Restaurant to the international flavors of Songhe Restaurant and the Grand Steakhouse, every dish embodies respect for ingredients and a commitment to tradition. Recommended must-try dishes include "Golden Dragon Roast Duck", "Dongpo Sauce Pork Knuckle", and "Red Bean Soufflé Cake", each with a national banquet-level attention to detail, telling the unique culinary story of Taiwan's diverse cultural integration. ■ Notes For inquiries about facilities and services, please check the hotel's official website or contact the hotel directly.Rooms
