From JR Matsumoto Station, take the Matsumoto Electric Railway Kamikochi Line to "Shinshimashima Station", then approximately 70 minutes by bus or taxi.
Tokyo:
By public transport: Change trains at JR Matsumoto Station and take the Matsumoto Electric Railway to Shinshimashima, then take the bus to Kamikochi end, and walk 5 minutes.
By car: From Okaya JCT on the Chuo Expressway, head onto the Nagano Expressway, then to Matsumoto, and proceed on Route 158 towards Kamikochi, around 50 minutes to Sawatari.
Osaka:
By public transport: Change trains at JR Matsumoto Station and take the Matsumoto Electric Railway to Shinshimashima, then take the bus to Kamikochi end, and walk 5 minutes.
By car: Enter the Hokuriku Expressway from Ichinomiya JCT on the Chuo Expressway towards Takayama, exit at Hida Kiyomi IC, then proceed on Route 158 towards Kamikochi.
