I really liked the diverse space planning at BLANC FUJI. If you're staying alone, you can choose a detached room with its own outdoor bath; for two or more, I recommend the dual-unit with sauna and outdoor bath.

The furniture and appliances in the room are top-notch, including a Balmuda oven, electric kettle, coffee machine, and portable Bluetooth speaker. The chair is a classic design by Danish designer Hans J. Wegner, the Shell Chair, paired with a stump-style stool, which stands out impressively in a black and wood-themed space, even featuring a wine fridge, with care in detail evident everywhere.

Additionally, there’s a rental service for TENTIAL functional sleepwear, which is popular lately, reportedly enhancing sleep quality. It feels really comfortable, and I ordered a set right after checking out.

You can see Mount Fuji throughout the BLANC FUJI park, but it’s even more surprising when you stay. The room I booked had a direct view of Mount Fuji, a delightful unexpected gain.

I didn't purchase meals this time, but within a ten-minute walk from the hotel, there’s a Lawson where I bought snacks and drinks. We spent a very relaxing time chatting with fellow guests in the garden.

The private sauna is easy to operate; there’s even an outdoor bath for cooling down after sauna sessions with cold water, or taking hot baths.

This type of accommodation might seem a bit luxurious for two people, but it becomes very cost-effective for three to four people since it includes a private sauna, outdoor bath, and spacious yard. Also, each room comes with firewood for a cozy fire in the yard at night.

The weekend prices at BLANC FUJI by Lake Kawaguchi often double, but booking through HafH keeps the prices relatively stable, saving quite a bit. If you're looking to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors for a fresh feeling, this place is definitely worth a try!

What’s unique about this place is that the entire hotel and all room types have access to a similar "VIP lounge" service for free.

Free coffee around the clock, afternoon tea snacks, happy hour in the evening (offering red and white wine and cocktails), and finally, a rice porridge buffet at night, meaning you can eat from morning till night without worrying about hunger.

The Osaka branch is a brand new building, with high floors, plenty of natural light, and a unified design style, providing a comfortable sense of space. It’s worth mentioning that I am a bit picky about my coffee, and I usually don’t drink the coffee provided by hotels, but the self-brew machine and freshly ground coffee beans used by Intergate are genuinely impressive.

It’s rare to see free coffee that uses beans from a well-known local coffee shop and employs an expensive self-brew machine to brew on demand, and the taste is decent.

However, considering the room rates, I think the experience provided by this brand far exceeds its value, no wonder its ratings on various booking sites are almost all above 4.5 stars. 

Highly recommended for travelers looking for high CP value accommodation options, with the opportunity to eat from the afternoon all the way to midnight snacks, along with a large public bath for relaxation.

The window area is designed with a niche sofa, perfect for daydreaming or reading.
In the city center, having this kind of connection to green spaces and expansive views is truly rare.

Impressed by the Yuen series in Shinjuku, I opted for in-house dining this time.
I simply ordered five pieces of sushi and a sake cocktail; the taste was pleasant, and the prices were reasonable, making it a great option for travelers who don't want to go out searching for food.

Since its opening, this inn has become one of the most talked-about accommodations in Tokyo.  
It is quite rare to create a space that embodies the complete atmosphere of a hot spring inn amidst the bustling area of Shinjuku.

From the moment you step into the inn, it’s a series of visual delights. The overall design of the inn is calm and elegant, filled with subtle Japanese details. The rooms, though not spacious, effectively maintain a sense of openness through the use of tatami and low beds. In addition to yukata, even traditional wooden clogs and slippers specifically for yukata are fully prepared, showcasing the true spirit of Japanese hospitality.

The bathhouse is located on the 18th floor, and the high-rise outdoor bath offers a magnificent view of the night scene of Shinjuku's skyscrapers, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere.  
I recommend checking in at around 3 PM so that you can immediately go up and soak in the hot springs. At this time, the crowd is relatively small, allowing you to enjoy a quieter space. The evening is the golden hour for soaking, where you can admire the slowly darkening sky and the interplay of sunset and night views, making it worthwhile to slow down and enjoy. After soaking, you can sit in the attached relaxation area to enjoy a free popsicle, an experience that is truly indescribably blissful.

The amenities in the room are also excellent; besides the tea bags which are carefully selected Japanese tea, a special variety of rice snacks is provided as well.

I stayed during June, and they provided a limited-time late-night snack at 10 PM, including tofu, small snacks, and simple alcoholic drinks, perfectly extending the experience of a one-night, two-meal stay.

A few small reminders: it takes about eight minutes to walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station to the inn, with a slight uphill along the way, and the inn is located in an alley, so you may need to pay extra attention to the direction if it's your first visit. Alternatively, taking a taxi directly from Shinjuku Station may be more convenient. However, there is a convenience store across from the inn, and a large supermarket nearby, making life very convenient.

In summary, if you are looking for a hot spring inn in the bustling area of Tokyo where you can thoroughly relax and unwind without the need to travel far to the suburbs, then "Yuzen Onsen Ryokan" in Shinjuku is definitely a choice that combines quality and convenience.

Through spatial design and material details, travelers from all over the world can quietly feel the delicacy and tranquility of modern Japan.

The most eye-catching feature of the entire building is its wall surrounded by plants. 
It's not just a small patch of greenery at the ground level but a wall full of various plants at every balcony, even boasting trees as tall as five meters, making the building itself a green landmark of the district.

Walking into the lobby, from the selection of light to materials, every corner exudes a natural warmth. 
The leather storage in the room, warm lighting, and exclusive teacups from the renowned Arita porcelain kiln, Koran Co., are details that make one feel genuinely welcomed. 

Upon check-in, the front desk even presents you with a piece of chocolate from the first-floor chocolate specialty shop. 
I particularly appreciate the small snacks and beverages prepared for travelers; these thoughtful touches come in handy precisely when you want to relax in your room. 
Returning to the room in the evening, brewing a cup of hot coffee accompanied by a small piece of chocolate is the happiest moment of the day.

The lobby also thoughtfully features a bath bomb-making area, where you can pick your own bath salts and herbs to create a unique aroma. 
Beyond indulging your taste buds with chocolate, even your pre-bedtime bathing time is perfectly cared for.

As soon as you enter the lobby, you can immediately feel the leisurely atmosphere created by the hotel. The high space, coupled with large floor-to-ceiling windows facing the port, creates a flowing seascape that changes with the sunlight and time, causing you to unconsciously slow your breath and let go of travel fatigue.

There is also a small pool and reading lounge on the basement level, where you can arrange for a lazy afternoon during your island journey, soaking in the water or sitting quietly with a book.

The name "Strata" in the hotel name means 'soil layer,' and throughout the hotel, the design features stacked soil, weathered imagery, and natural materials, interpreting a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

The pool on the first floor is surrounded by greenery, and stepping into the lobby is filled with a vacation feel.
Behind the pool, there is a high-end Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy Okinawan-style creative cuisine on weekends.

And the absolute must-see is the rooftop bar and infinity pool.
With a broad view, you can gaze at the sea view and skyline of Okinawa.

The bar only operates from Thursday to Sunday, so it is advisable to make arrangements to stay on those days.
Their afternoon tea experience is truly worth it. For just 2,500 yen, you can enjoy four types of desserts + four savory dishes, paired with unlimited coffee and tea, leisurely and satisfying.

Although the rooms are not large, they are exquisitely designed, continuing the overall sober tone of the hotel.
I particularly love the pendant lamp on the small table by the bed—when the ceramic lampshade lights up at night, it gives a warm feeling.

The toiletries, though simple, are all carefully selected good items, making the accommodation experience highly comfortable for solo travelers.

The location is truly impeccable!
Just outside the "Miebashi Station," the elevator is right next to you, and there is absolutely no pressure in handling luggage.
It takes about ten minutes to get to Naha Airport by car, and it's only a five-minute walk to Kokusai Dori.

Naha City has many good hotels, but surprisingly, not many are this close to the beach.
It can be quite difficult to find a place with a sea view.

However, everyone’s image of Okinawa often includes the desire to 'see the sea.'
If you don’t plan to drive to the resorts in the central or northern areas, then finding a place in the city that has a sea view,
Hotel Anteroom Naha is definitely the top choice.

It is especially suitable for solo travelers looking to unwind and enjoy a relaxed vacation atmosphere.
Generally, staying in large resorts alone can be less economical, but the prices at this hotel are ideal for solo travelers, and the amenities exceed expectations.

I particularly recommend choosing the artist collaboration room type. This room type is located on the second floor, the same level as the lobby, because the lobby is designed like an art gallery that can host exhibitions, with a particularly high ceiling. This means that although the artist room type on the second floor is not very spacious, the high ceiling gives a very spacious feeling and enhances the vacation atmosphere.

Although it takes about a 15-minute walk from the station, which might not be suitable for staying every day, I highly recommend arranging a special night here to experience it. This place has an irreplaceable atmosphere like an art museum and a sea view outside the window, making it truly worth spending a night to feel.

The hotel is located near Tomari Port, which is very ideal if you plan to take a boat from Naha to the nearby islands for a short trip — it only takes a five-minute walk to reach the port, and catching the early ferry is very convenient.

Additionally, you can stroll to the only beach in Naha City, 'Naminoue Beach,' in just a short distance.
Although the location is slightly off, there are convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance, so daily living functions are not an issue.

In any case, Hotel Anteroom Naha is a hotel that cannot be missed when visiting Naha.

I really like this place; even if I don’t stay overnight, I will make a special trip just to have a cup of coffee.

No need to mention the bustling downtown of Shibuya; even a short walk will take you to Meiji Shrine and Omotesando. This location is truly special; I even feel that even if you aren’t traveling to Tokyo, locals living in the Kanto region should experience this feeling of living in the heart of the city; it will be a refreshing experience.

Though the room is not large, the overall design in green tones provides a very comfortable visual experience. Upon check-in, I received a pack of very delicious whole wheat cookies, which perfectly paired with the curated tea bags prepared in the room.

Being able to have a tranquil afternoon tea time amidst the crowded Shibuya downtown, and to have the whole venue to ourselves, is indeed a rather luxurious experience.

The hotel may not have a large footprint, but one can see a lot of thoughtful details in many aspects.

My favorite part is their elevator; it’s quite rare for such a small hotel to have special decorations in the elevator. The green tiles adorned with the hotel's logo on the mirror give a reassuring feeling of "I’m back" from the moment you step into the elevator. The daily hustle and bustle of Shibuya and the unique atmosphere inside the hotel blend perfectly through the act of taking the elevator.

The popular pizza restaurant and coffee shop located in the same building also add to the charm; the semi-open design on the second floor cleverly brings in the outdoor air and sky into the originally small space, making you momentarily forget that you are still in the lively Shibuya.

All Day Place Shibuya is a well-designed accommodation choice that offers convenient transportation. It allows you to find a secret base to adjust your own rhythm in the bustling center of Shibuya. Whether you are a tourist wanting to experience the true face of urban living or someone living in Kanto looking for a mini-vacation, you can feel a sense of freedom that balances between being a traveler and a local.

The historic Atami Onsen area has many accommodations since ancient times.
While large resort hotels or Japanese inns are common, mid-range hotels like SOKI ATAMI, emphasizing Japanese design, are quite rare.

It takes about ten minutes by taxi from Atami Station to SOKI ATAMI, which is a perfect distance for the hotel to have its unique character.
The hidden atmosphere makes it feel as if you're staying in a private villa in Atami.

The name SOKI comes from "Su" and "Ki", and this concept is further expanded in Atami.

As soon as you walk into the lobby, the space is filled with the fresh scent of wood and plants, instantly putting you in a tranquil rhythm.
The public spaces are used similarly to an art museum, featuring large wall surfaces and carefully designed lighting to showcase installation art. The interior design continues the "Su Ki" concept: bare wooden floors, earth-toned curtains, and low-saturation selections. The welcome snack in the room is "Kamiyama Tengu Kogashimaru", a cookie specially made by the local bakery "Kyuon", which has a stunning flavor that makes you want to buy more right away.

The top floor's ocean-view tea room embodies the overall spirit of the hotel.

This area is exclusive to guests, where you can enjoy carefully prepared tea and snacks in the afternoon.

That day, we tasted the rare Kurmoji tea from the Izu Peninsula, paired with sweets from the famous local wagashi shop "Mase".

It made us again feel the true meaning of the SOKI spirit: to select for you the most worth-trying local experiences "in this time and place".

A more surprising touch is the wet wipes in the tea room.

Initially thought to be just regular supplies, but the faint scent that wafted while I was wiping my hands was unexpectedly delightful—it was rosemary! 

Upon asking, I found out that these herbs are grown by the hotel in their garden, distilled into water, and then infused into the wet wipes.

What seems to be a simple wet wipe actually carries a lot of stories.

I casually mentioned to the staff, "I really like rosemary; every time I see it on the roadside, I can't help but touch the leaves."
She smiled and nodded. A few minutes later, she quietly brought me a small sprig of rosemary, softly saying:
"Let this scent accompany you; you can also take it back to your room."

At that moment, I really felt very warm.

The price of SOKI is indeed not cheap, but whether it's the space, meals, or service details, it all feels worth it.
There's even a sense of being "cherished"; the height of the corridor lights, the volume of the music in the lounge area, and even the design of the overall atmosphere exist to "not disturb you".

SOKI Atami is not a hotel you would want to check in immediately for a social media post,
but rather a place that will ferment in your heart after you leave.

It is not just a place to stay during your journey, but like a time filtered from noise.

The breakfast experience is also unforgettable, costing about 4,000 yen extra, including a whole box of exquisite Japanese-style set meal, complemented by an unlimited buffet of side dishes.

Each dish shows great care, from seasoning, plating to the selection of tableware, providing a dual enjoyment of visual and taste. The restaurant features a full-length window facing a lush garden.

On a sunny morning, dining while appreciating the scenery outside is very blissful.

Even though there is natural light during the day, making it pleasant to soak,
if you wish to enjoy the sea view while soaking, it's more recommended to choose a room with a private outdoor bath. The ceramic outdoor bath, while rustic, is equipped with the most advanced temperature control system; just press a button to automatically fill with the appropriately warm, suitable amount of hot spring water.

Kyoto is a place that makes you want to return again and again, with endless exploration of delicious food and venerable old shops.

And Anteroom Kyoto is my other home in Kyoto.

Leaving the hustle and bustle around Kyoto Station, Kawaramachi, and Kiyomizu Temple, this place is quiet and the pace is slow.

As a representative work of UDS’s early house renovation hotels, HOTEL ANTEROOM KYOTO has hosted various art exhibitions for many years. The large blank spaces serve as an exhibition area, allowing you to naturally slow down every time you enter or exit the hotel.

I’ve heard that many guests return regularly because each visit may feature new works.

This feeling of living in an art gallery can indeed be addictive.

While waiting to check in, the waiting time usually leads me to look around at the exhibits; the space here is beautifully distracting.

After dropping off my luggage, I observe the moss garden, and then take a stroll to a nearby public bath, allowing my body and mind to relax before returning to my room. The lighting, decor, and amenities in the room continue UDS’s consistent quality.

I especially love the wooden tray in the room, which holds a mug, a glass, and tea bags. Though these cups and tea bags should have been chosen separately, why is it that placed on this tray, they create a perfect match?

With beautiful cups and trays, brewing a cup of tea paired with snacks is a delightful afternoon tea.

In the evening, I can enjoy a drink and relish a moment of mild intoxication;
Then, I’ll take out stationery from the drawer to write a letter to myself.

Finally, in the lobby, I pick my favorite essential oils and bath salts; HOTEL ANTEROOM even thinks of the relaxation time while bathing.

Rather than just staying, I feel this is a complete healing journey.

Every step helps you to calm down and slow down.

Anteroom means "waiting room," acting as a transitional space connecting one journey to the next. I highly recommend arranging to stay here on the last night of your trip, to reflect on the joys of your journey and to organize your mind and body.

Although the location is about a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station, it is this distance that distances you from the noise and crowds.

On the day I checked in, I took a taxi from Kyoto Station for about 500 yen; while leaving, I walked about 8 minutes to the Kyoto Kujo subway station. There was absolutely no inconvenience; in fact, I intentionally sought this kind of "deviation from the bustling area" pace.

This time, I stayed in a Semi Double room, but I heard that if there are vacancies, they will try to upgrade for free. I was indeed upgraded to a 25-square-meter room, which is very sufficient for a solo trip.

In conclusion, Anteroom Kyoto is like an old friend you want to see again, with surprises at every meeting.

Kanazawa has many excellent ryokans, making it hard to choose when booking. Nevertheless, SOKI KANAZAWA, part of the UDS group, has an undeniable presence.

The UDS group, rooted in the design field, not only handles architecture and interior design but also operates hotels. Staying here is not just a brief stop; it feels more like joining a "midnight exhibition."

Upon check-in, I was first presented with a well-known traditional sweet from Ishikawa Prefecture called "Odamaki". At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary daifuku, but the moment I took a bite, it amazed me. That chewy texture is quite rare, and the sweetness is just right. When I wanted to check where to buy it, I found out the nearest shop required a one-hour drive. It was then that I realized SOKI had already selected the best local flavors for its guests.

It was a cloudy day when I checked in, and I was worried the room might feel a bit dim. However, the moment I opened the door, I felt the light had been delicately adjusted to warmly welcome guests.

"Welcome to Kanazawa. To make you feel like you’re living in a movie, we’ve even specially designed the lighting."

Next, my gaze unfolded from the left side, where a selection of Kaga stick tea and wooden tea cups awaited; a geometrically shaped red bean-colored sofa. After a flurry of visual stimulation, it concluded with two Japanese-style double beds quietly arranged on the wooden floor.

SOKI is a hotel that keeps your senses constantly engaged.

From check-in to check-out, every angle and moment feels meticulously planned. If you love to take pictures, be prepared; you won’t be able to stop pressing the shutter.

By the bedside, there’s a small booklet about SOKI, introducing the carefully prepared tea product "Kinbōcha SHUN" and the wooden tea cups crafted using Ishikawa’s traditional craft "Yamanaka Lacquerware" technique, which feels lightweight and has a thin, smooth rim. Being able to experience Kanazawa’s craftsmanship through everyday utensils is a wonderful experience.

In Kanazawa, if you spend a night at SOKI, you have already sampled the essence of this city.

SOKI is also conveniently located right next to Omicho Market. Although not large in scale, it features an exquisite public bath. There's no outdoor bath, but the arch ceiling of the indoor bath creates a sense of comfort as if you’re hidden in a cave.

After soaking, not only is the coffee milk ready, but you can also try the sweet sake from Kanazawa Fukukoya. I recommend bringing it back to your room, adding ice, and enjoying it slowly in a glass. Kyoto has many wonderful hotels, and I have stayed in quite a few, but I don't think there are any that surpass this one in terms of location, service, facilities, and price. It features a free drink bar (with umeshu and beer) and snacks, spacious guest rooms, and a large public bath styled like a retro sento, which has a fantastic atmosphere. The book selection corner from Seikosha and the stunning view from the rooftop terrace are also attractive. The facilities are new, and the space has a warmth of wood. The amenities are well thought out, and every detail makes it a comfortable hotel. The kids' space is well-equipped, making it perfect for families. However, it may not be suitable for those who want a quiet stay. The hotel encourages you to enjoy free drinks and snacks in your room, and you can also borrow books, making it a great place to relax in your room.
